The new additions supplement the expanding needs of York County’s southern tier.
The sleek and modern structure, designed by Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects, will replace a now-demolished plywood change house.
Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects had been involved in the redesign projects at Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena, Towanda Recreation Center, and Cylburn Arboretum Carriage House.
Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects’ work on the second floor included designing two flexible classrooms that greeted York College students to the Center for Community Engagement as they returned for the fall semester.
Integrating the building into a residential neighborhood, respecting the site’s community history, and heeding the call for lower costs are all part of the project – led by Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects – and is due to be finished in about 18 months.
